Whack-A-Mole only distracts the mole

Warning Reader – this one’s a little raw.

I was just with a client who had the rug pulled out from under her in a relationship recently, and she kept apologizing and saying she felt stupid for feeling so sad – that she should be able to shake it off – that other people have it so much worse. It broke my heart to hear her shame herself for how she felt, like it was an inconvenience. It was not. But that’s what she was conditioned her whole life to believe – that she was “too sensitive” and she needed to get over it.

And she did for a long time – until she didn’t.

That’s what happens when we play whack-a-mole with our feelings, pushing them down every time they pop up, distracting ourselves with anything and everything we can. They still keep coming.

And THAT’s why I do this work. Because keeping things neat and tidy doesn’t heal you. Being afraid to stir up those feelings you’re managing down right now doesn’t keep them at bay. They’re already stirred up, Love. Getting to the root of them is how we heal.

After we talked through it, I asked her one question: What do you want to feel?

She said peace. I said okay – let’s get to it.

If peace is what you want too, here’s where we start:

→ Take the Who AM I Now? quiz to find the right path back to yourself – it’s free.
→ If you’ve already taken it, grab your Breakthrough Blueprint™ and let’s find the root. – $27

Either way, I’ve got you – let’s get to it.

Much love, 💗Kate
